Mermaid World Mermaid Guide

This guide is for the iPhone/iPad app Mermaid World, a charming game about making mermaids happy.  One of the primary aspects of the game is summoning new mermaids by sending two mermaids to the Singing Summit and having them call the new mermaid to your realm.  This guide strives to list all possible combinations of singing duets to summon or call each type of mermaid.

Please note that not every duet will always call a certain type and that many duets are capable of calling several different types of mermaid.  The specific outcome of a duet is random and can occasionally even yield a type that is the same as a member of the duet.  These instances are not a part of this guide as they are understood to always be possible.  We will also not list duets that generate any of the 6 basic types as they can all be summoned with coins.  At this time we can see no difference in the order in which you select the mermaids to sing, however, we are listing duets in the order we have selected them just for accuracy's sake.
Also note that Neon, Gold, and Diamond mermaids seem to be comprised of all 6 basic characteristics (blue, red, green, yellow, white, black) and therefore are capable of generating any lower level mermaids.  For this reason we will not list any instance where mermaids of these types result in a mermaid of a lower type (example:  Midas + Carbon Night = Luau).  It may be surmised that Limited Edition mermaids behave similarly, but there is no conclusive evidence that effect at this time.

To read my full rundown of the game, check out my Closer Look at Mermaid World! Also check out our Guide to Harmonious Realms to learn all about how to get your realms to 3 Star status and for more information about Trinket Rarity!

[A big thank you and mucho credit to the following fans (first names only, this is the internet after all, and you know who you are) who really helped out with the Trinket project that brings you trinket information for all mermaids:  Rachel, Bryan, Ciera, Adrian, Mare, hayjam, Angie, Krystal, Alison, Natalie, Nicole, Ariel, and Theresa and her posse.]

Goodbye and Thank you!
I have returned from my self-imposed exile to sadly announce to all of you that I have decided to discontinue updating this guide.  Crowdstar has shown to me that they do not understand the popularity of their own game nor how to successfully respond to the needs of their players.  The joy of this game is collecting mermaids and working them into realms to maximize their happiness and earn 3 start ratings.  However, Crowdstar has multiplied the number of possible mermaids exponentially, but has announced that they will no longer provide any new realsm to place them in.  The numbers were already extremely lopsided, as there were twice as many available mermaids as realms, but despite overwhelming player demand, they have refused to add more realms to place the mermaids in.  This effectively caps the potential for fun in the game.  If all you want to do is stockpile mermaids in a storage locker somewhere, then I guess the game still holds much joy, but for me, in the words of Brak, "the fun is gone, it's gone, it's out of here."

The greatest fun, however, came not from the game itself, but from you incredible fans.  In a very short time, you made this easily the most successful guide this blog has ever created.  Your tremendous show of support, your feedback, and your sharing of experiences have made this guide a very special thing for Aimee and I.  You are incredible people and incredible gamers.  I applaud you all.

I hope that those of you who still love the game will keep playing it and you are encouraged and welcome to keep adding comments to the bottom of the page. A very special thanks to PhoenixTrr.  In some ways, I feel that this guide is bequethed to you.  You have kept the home fires burning on our facebook page during my hiatus and you are clearly dedicated to this game and keeping the good players up to date.  For this, I thank you very much.

This has been an amazing experience and I greatly appreciate you all.  This page will now go into Archive mode, but hopefully it will continue to help new gamers as they discover this game.

EF is back with all new content this summer! We'd love to have you stick around and share in the fun with us!

Stan

Sphyrna
Only a 3 day offering period on the newest LE Mermaid Sphyrna.  Personally, I think she is pretty hideous and am going to pass on her, but for you completists with unlimited realm and lounge space, her calling duet is Blue Belle + Lotus.  Good luck.

Recent "Bug Fix" Update
Crowdstar recently released an update meant to fix many of the bugs that have been plaguing players as of late, particularly a lounge error that was crashing the game and trapping mermaids in the lounges.  It appears that they did, in fact, fix those bugs.  However, it seems the update is causing more errors than it fixed.  Players are reporting lost mermaids, as in gone forever, and particularly with Stella Star, and LE mermaid that is no longer available.  These vanishing mermaids disappear whilst moving mermaids from one realm to another.
Other players report being unable to use random mermaids for singing even though the mermaids are awake, not exploring and not singing.  The mermaids should be available for singing, but they are grayed out in the menu instead. One reader has suggested that this is caused by moving newly summoned mermaids directly from the bubble to the lounge instead of placing them in a realm first.
Still other players report multiple game crashes.  I personally have had the game crash at some point during every play session since the update. This usually happens to me at the singing summit, but has also happened in the realms.  Ad loads also seem to crash the game a lot.
Aimee reports that the facebook login bug continues to plague her game as well.
Pearls are not being awarded for watching videos.  And sometimes the game errors out while watching free pearl videos

So, the bottom line is that this bug fix update seems to have done more harm than good.  Play with caution until Crowdstar issues another update, and keep playing cautiously even after that apparently.  If you lose a mermaid like Stella Star, there is NOTHING Crowdstar can do.  They will compensate you with pearls (some players report as many as 400), but they cannot restore your lost mermaid.  If you have a bug, please report it to Crowdstar via the "report a bug" button (see FAQ below) or by contacting them via their forums.  Some players report that the "report a bug" is also buggy.

I personally am not going to move any mermaids around for fear of losing them and I'll not be completing any offers to earn free pearls until there is a fix and that fix appears to work.  I am willing to give Crowdstar the benefit of the doubt a bit and hope they can get this fixed quickly, but this may be the defining line for most players for this game.  Hang in there, you can use the Comments section or our facebook page to vent and share bug stories until things get worked out.

Thanks for reading!

Sugar Star
I was just yesterday thinking how nice it was to have summoned both Chica and Taurus and that I could now settle down and work on getting Shimmer, Spectra, and Metallia without being inundated by a barrage of extremely short-offered LE mermaids.  Then I got up this morning and look who was waiting for me: Sugar Star.
I love her color scheme!  Her summoning duet is Harlequin and Honey Dew and that should make her less frustrating to get as the only long call time out of that duet is Inky (10 hours).  The call time should be 12 hours like all other LE mermaids.
So there is no rest.  Crowdstar rolls on with more and more mermaids and no realms to put them in and who knows if they will get eaten up by a bug?

Taurus
This saucy minx is Taurus, she's here for a whole month, so no rush to get her, especially if you don't have room, (who does these days?).  The duet is Inky + Temptress, so you new players are probably going to be spared anyway.  I have to admit, she's one of the better Astrological mermaids we've seen!  Taurus is also Aimee's (the lovely wife) sign!

Gilded Mermaid Guide

The Gilded mermaid can only be obtained by calling with two ecstatic mermaids. Additionally, you can only get these mermaids by singing. Any existing mermaid in the mermaid guide (aside from limited edition mermaids) can be summoned as "Gilded".  This means all mermaids from Aqua to Prism Princes can be summoned as Gilded.

Gilded Mermaids are unique mermaids and have their own entry in the in-game guide.  They do not take the place of your existing mermaid of the same non-gilded type.

So far, I have summoned a Gilded Citrine and a Gilded Aqua. They have their normal call times (Aqua, for example, was a minute call) and can be summoned in any combination that might normally result in that mermaid. (For Aqua, I used Aqua + Coral). It took a few tries; not every call will result in a gilded version.

The Gilded mermaids seem to function exactly the same as the non-gilded counterparts in realms (Aqua and Gilded Aqua are the same mermaid, functionally) with two notable exceptions:

Gilded Mermaids earn more coins per minute than their non-gilded counterparts.

Gilded Mermaids leave a gift 10X greater than their non-gilded counterparts when you say Goodbye to them.

(a huge thank you to Ana Sirena Moon for pointing these two distinctions out to me!)

Mermaid World FAQ

Got a burning question not covered by the guide above?  Chances are good you are not the first.  Below are the most popular ponderings of Mermaid World players collected from our Comments section and the best approximation to an answer we can provide.  This is a fluid document, so if you don't see your question or are not satisfied with the answers given to your question, please make use of the Comments Section!

Q: What color traits do Neon, Metal, Diamond, Galaxy, and Limited Edition mermaids possess?
A: It is believed at this time that those mermaids (Neon and higher, and LE) possess ALL 6 color traits and are capable of summoning any of the lesser mermaids. (this answer is based on multiple calling duets containing these mermaids with various results)

Did You Know:  You can wake up your mermaids by tapping on them, OR by touching the screen and then dragging your finger along creating a stream of bubbles that wake up your mermaids as it passes under them?  If mermaids are awake when you do this, they will follow your finger as you drag, they will also do a signature animation if you blow bubbles under them whilst they are awake.

Q: Is there a correlation between trinkets and realms?  For example, will you find a Samovar in Tipping Rock more often than Rainbow's End?
A: The correlation is between mermaid and trinket not trinket and realm.  See the guide above and our Harmonious Realms Guide for more information about trinket rarity by mermaid.  Finding trinkets is based on luck.  Aimee compares it to a slot machine: when you are on a hot streak, your mermaid can find a trinket about 25% of the time, but when the streak runs cold, you might see odds closer to 5%.  And like a slot machine, when the streak runs cold, move on and try again later.

Q: I missed out on a Limited Edition mermaid, can I still call it with the right duet after the offering period?
A: No.  You must call a LE mermaid during its offering period or it is unavailable until the next offering period.

Q: I missed out on an LE mermaid.  Will I ever have another chance to call her?
A: Most likely yes.  Seasonal mermaids like Peppermint and Lum are most likely to return around the same time next year.  Same for the Astrological mermaids. Crowdstar has also offered "Amnesty" offerings in the past so you could call LE mermaids you missed during a 24 hour window.  It is likely they will do so again.

Q:  My LE mermaid did not find her trinket during the offering period, can I still find her trinket?
A: Yes!  LE mermaids can find their trinket at any time as long as you have them in your realms.  LE trinkets also remain in your store as long as you have that LE mermaid in your collection.

Q: Is it possible to collect all 51 (or 102) basic mermaids, plus all of the LE mermaids?
A: No.  At this time, there are only enough realms to hold 75 mermaids.  That is only roughly half of the total possible mermaids available.  The limit on Lounge space is 40 (thank you again Ana Sirena Moon, if EF ever has a budget, you deserve a cut), so you can, at this time collect a maximum 115 mermaids.  Some one will have to be left out, unless you choose not to go after all of the gildeds.

Q: Do you have to keep Gilded Mermaids or can I delete them once I've checked them off my guide?
A: If you delete any mermaid, even Gilded ones, they will be unchecked in your guide.  Therefore, you must keep at least one of any mermaid in order to have it checked off in your guide.

Q: Are Gilded Mermaids the same as non-Gilded Mermaids of the same type?
A: No.  Gilded Mermaids are unique mermaids and have their own page and entries in the in-game guidebook.  Gilded Mermaids also earn more gold per minute and leave bigger gold gifts when you say goodbye to them.

Q: Do mermaids earn gold while they are sleeping?
A: No, they must be awake to earn gold.

Q:  Does a duet need to be ecstatic to call Limited Edition or rare mermaids?
A:  Ecstatic mermaids have a greatly likelihood to call Limited Edition and rare mermaids, but it is not required for the mermaids to be ecstatic.  It is believed that Prism Princess requires ecstatic mermaids to be called.  Gilded mermaids do require ecstatic mermaids to be called.

Q: Can I add friends to Mermaid World any way other than through Facebook?
A: Not at this time.  Currently MW requires you to be friends with the other player in order to be friends in the game.  I do not like that.

Q: Why is my mermaid/trinket being replaced with a white block that has a "?" in it?
A: This appears to be a bug that occasionally causes trinkets like the Mandolin and some mermaids and their portraits to be replaced by that "?" block.  It does not appear to affect game play in any other way.

Q: I just got 1.7 million gold, but I cannot buy Tipping Rock Realm (which costs 1.7 million), is this a glitch?
A: Nope.  Due to the way the game tracks your money after 1 million, you can only see your gold stash as a value of 1.X million.  Thus when your gold amount shows 1.7 million, you could have anywhere from 1,700,001 to 1,799,999 gold.  Tipping Rock Realm costs somewhere between 1,700,001 and 1,799,999 gold, but the game does not indicate exactly how much that is.  So just because the price for Tipping Rock says 1.7 mil does having exactly 1.7 mil will enable you to purchase the realm.  It is a bad game mechanic, but it's how things work.

Q: What is the highest level you can reach in the game?
A: I have not yet found a limit to the number of levels you can reach and at the time of writing this FAQ, I am at level 39.

Q: Are there a limited number of mermaids a given mermaid can like/dislike?
A: Tough one.  I believe there is, but have not done the research yet to confirm.  At the outset, it would appear that mermaids are most likely to like/dislike other mermaids at their level, but can also like/dislike mermaids of the next higher or lower level on rare occasion.  This point definitely warrants further study.

Q: I cannot call "X" mermaid for anything, no matter how many times I have tried.  Is my game broken?
A: Nope.  Keep trying.  Calling mermaids is a function of luck and patience.  Having ecstatic mermaids increases your chances, but it still comes down to luck. Keep trying!

Q: How do I collect my daily pearl for my Three Star Realm?
A: Click on the Pearl Icon on the left hand side of the screen and it will grant you your pearl.

Q: My game is really buggy, what can I do?
A: Contact Crowdstar using the "Report a Bug" button from the Gear Menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of Lounges we can own?
A: I have not seen a limit yet.  I currently have 25.

Q: Does it matter which order the mermaids are in when I create a duet?
A: No.

Q: How can I figure out the clues to call a Limited Edition mermaid?
A: Thus far all clues as to how to call a Limited Edition mermaid  have been contained either in the announcement of the mermaid's arrival or in the mermaid's profile description.  As of late, the clue words have always been capitalized. (see photo)  The clue words are usually the name or part of the name of the mermaids required to call that LE mermaid.

Q:This FAQ failed to answer my question.  What do I do?
A: Leave your question in our Comments section below.  I'll do my best to answer it!

Thank you for reading!  Hope we have helped!

I told him, it's no different then people that play fantasy football.....only my players are MUCH prettier!!! LOL
Thank you for making me feel less like a weirdo! It's great to know I'm not alone!

  2. Hamrsark, you are not alone. I'm a 37 year old guy who loves football (can't do the fantasy football stuff though), but I also have a lot of fun sorting out these mermaids! I got my wife hooked pretty quick as well.
If you find combos that we don't have, feel free to share them!
    Thanks for reading!

  3. Saving enough money for decors. Am now at Rainbow's End with 7 3-star realms. Getting decors and the cost gets higher as the realms progresses. But I don't think you can collect call mermaids at ecstatic stage with only 15 realms. It's a rare thing having 4 out of 5 mermaids like one mermaid. You end up having so many of the basic and two trait mermaids in one realm. But if they add more realms definitely you'll be able to get all 50 mermaids and eventually get them to ecstatic mode. But what happens after that? Hmmm...I hope they find a clever way of making the game more exciting to play with. Also, the realms get so expensive you have to wait days and eventually weeks to buy the realm as you progress. I hope they do make them a bit cheaper otherwise, if you can't wait then you end up buying coins. =) But this is one game I'm willing the spend some amount. I love looking at this lovely mermaids. Takes me to a different place...

    1. Decorating the realms seems to be the biggest challenge with the later realms. I have 8 of 11 realms at 3 star level, but am held up by decor criteria on the last 3. 5 mermaids per realm X 10 realms means you can get the original 50 no sweat, but add in the LE and Gilded and you now need upwards of 25 realms to hold them all. We definitely need more realms and mermaids could stand to generate coins a bit faster. Crowdstar already discounted the price of realms once. They might need to do so again, but so far I'm not having too much trouble buying new realms. Takes a few days. Just making higher level mermaids earn coins faster would help.
The lynchpin strategy works best when you are later in the game and summoning mermaids constantly. I have 3 realms that were built on the lynchpin strategy.

    2. Hi Stan,
It is essential you get the sunstar mermaid. I got pisces too. I had to to have two limelights and sea dragons which are both ecstatic and just had to interchange them singing at the summit and finally I got one @ 12 hours waiting time. Sunstar really the best finder of the most rarest things. I was able to decorate all my 10 realms with her finding all the high-level decors I needed. Now all my 10 realms are at 3-star level. I am almost done with collecting all the mermaids. I have 8 gilded mermaids. My only problem is buying new realms. I bought this pearl idol. It helps but it really is slow on piling up the pearls. Sometimes I even have to buy a bag of pearls because the waiting time for the pearl idol is just too long. I also notice that the higher level mermaids and the limited edition ones, find their trinkets a lot quicker - in just 4 to 5 tries they are able to find their trinkets. I really hope the price of the realms go cheaper. It will take weeks for me just to save up the coins needed to buy the level 11 realm. Actually, I need the remaining 5 just to put all the mermaids wc I have kept in the lounge. Plus crowdstar needs to create new realms as it is less likely that you will have all ecstatic members in just 15 realms. Just to add, i got domino from combining limelight and sea dragon and koi with temptress and electra. I tend to disagree with the 50 mermaids in just 10 realms as some of their tendency to like the same mermaid are a challenge. Not unless you try keep on trying to call mermaids which the other 3 or 4 like. I now have 10 realms all ecstatic but not able to put in all the mermaids. I can easily switch their preferences using pearls but that would add up to the cost. Btw, I am from Manila, Philippines and of course with the currency conversion it is going to be quite expensive. Actually, I have invested quite a bit in this game and this is the only game I like best! Plus I get refreshed just by looking at the mermaids =) so it's no big deal. But I won't buy coins for the level 11 realm onwards. It's not going to be practical anymore!

    3. Yeah, Sun Star is finding all kinds of great things! I am saving for the next realm right now, but once that is done, I plan on sending her on many many more explorations! Very exciting to hear of your success. Decor is my only hold back from getting all 11 of my current realms at 3 star level.
As for LE's finding trinkets faster, yes and no. Most have found it pretty quickly, but I am having a dickens of a time finding the Pisces rune.
It is difficult, but possible to have all 50 in the first 10 realms. I have done that in 11, due to the addition of the LE mermaids. I do not have any duplicate mermaids at this time.
Agreed that it can be expensive if you are buying pearls for stuff. I buy pearls to support Crowdstar because the game is a lot of fun, but I don't spend more than I can afford. I leave the rest to the randomness of the game and patience.
It is exciting to have a reader in the Philippines! Hope things are well in Manila Bay!

    4. Hi Stan,
Wow, we have the same idea. I am also planning to send sun star to other realms once I get my 11th realm. Kudos to you for being able to combine the 50 mermaids with 11 realms! I have to find a clever way to do that. Well, summoning mermaids with same likes is one option. Yup, it's one way to support crowdstar since the game is really fun! It's also one way to keep the game updated. If they see more people playing and buying coins or pearls then I think that would definitely amp the game. You know what, I wanted to get fortuna swirls with temptress and electra but I keep on getting carbon night or koi ugggh!!! I think I have to call another temptress which I am now doing with tigra and silversong. But calling another electra is a challenge the present combinations and the past one I used when calling her does not seem to work anymore. I'll just have to keep on trying then. This is what I am talking about with the difficulty of getting all 50 mermaids in 10 or 11 realms. Plus I have the limited edition mermaids all 3 three of them - aquarius, pisces, and sunstar. For pisces I got her trinket in just 4 tries. At times, it takes them ages to get their trinkets, I would have to agree with that. Because I had the same problem with Midas and Temptress. I almost lost all my coins! LOL! Till next post! I have to save 1.2M for the 11th realm aarrgghh!

  5. maybe someone can answer this: since gilded and normal are essentially the same mermaid, should I opt for keeping one and not the other of the same? I am not sure there is enough tanks to keep all the gilded and all the normals....What do other players do? I just want to manage the space I have as best as possible.

    1. We've not yet found a limit to the lounge space you can buy, so I suppose you can technically have them all, but some will be in storage. At current count there are 109 unique mermaids (including Gilded, because they have their own entry in the guidebook, even though they are exactly the same as the regular mermaids), and there are 15 realms. That means you can have 75 mermaids out in realms and the remaining 34 in the Lounge.
Personally, I am only keeping a Gilded right now if I like it better than the original, it meets a need, and I have the space. Otherwise I am letting them go. I need my 20 lounge spaces right now for realm building. Interested to hear what others are doing.

      Delete
    2. As much as I like the original mermaids, the Gilded ones make more money than their counterparts. Honey Dew - 3 coins/minute, Gilded Honey Dew - 5 coins/minute. That's a 120 coin/hour difference. Marigold - 4 coin/minutes, Gilded Marigold - 6 coins/minute. Honey Dew is somewhere in the middle as far as the rank of the mermaids (how much money they make, how hard they are to conjure,) but she's boosted up to a higher level (same as Silver Song and Ginger Blossom) when she is gilded. Over a day, that can add up if you have several gilded mermaids. My main purpose right now is to make as much as moola as I can, so that's my strategy until I can open all the realms and locate trinkets.

      Delete
    3. I keep all the gilded mermaids - I have 17 now - but most of them are in the lounge. I use them to create three-star realms with the LE mermaids, which means I don't have to split up three-star realms full of common mermaids every time a new LE comes out. I have 8 three-star realms full of just unique common mermaids, and two three-star realms full of gilded/LE ones, so it works quite well.

  6. Threw this together. These are all the different mermaids strait from the game's API. The names are based off their ID, not precisely what they call them today.

  8. I have a thought about the variety of mermaids a specific type of mermaid can like. For example I have been trying to fit fuschia into a realm and have summoned her many times generating six different possibilities of mermaid types that she is compatable with. I was wondering if each mermaid has six types she can like or if I should keep trying to summon new fuschias to fit her into the realm.

    1. I'm not sure if there is a set number of mermaids a mermaid can like or dislike (it is worth the research, but that is a BIG project), but their likes and dislikes seem to be confined to their level, and the level just above or below (in rare instances). For instance, that Fuschia you are working with is NEVER going to like someone like Sea Dragon, but she is likely going to like Coral or Opal or Luau as they are closer in level. Same thing goes for dislike.

  9. Ever notice when mermaids are in the lounge they aren't available for singing? What are they up to? Getting manicures and pedicures in there?

If you think about it, there's another cost involved with singing, not just the initial cost to sing (which can be up thousands for the higher mermaid singers). While the mermaids are away from your realm they aren't putting gold into your treasure chest. That's an extra cost that will add up with long singing for rare mermaids. For example,
Silver Song and Tigra = Temptress,
5 gold / minute each missing from your realms for 36 hours singing e
    5 x 60 = 300 gold per hour / each mermaid
    300 x 36 hours = 10,800 gold pieces
10,800 x 2 = 21,600 for both mermaids that you miss out while they are singing.

To save money, you don't want to miss clicking on finished when they're finished singing so the singers can return to their realms asap.

My daughter likes singing along with them. Interesting the different harmonies each type of mermaid makes together.

  10. I summoned a fuschia mermaid using sunkiss and charming violet. I noticed that combination wasn't up there. I was trying to get glimmer rose lol!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That duet isn't up there because it is hard to know if the Fuschia was a product solely of the efforts of Charming Violet or if the blue trait from Sunkiss played a factor. I try to avoid these kinds of duets, because by that logic, technically, ANY duet with Charming Violet could result in a Fuschia.

      Hope that makes sense.

  11. You're welcome! Might have another trinket figured out. Currently the only entry for Chaise Lounge is as Rare for Calypso. Also Carbon Night has Lounge Chair (C), Decorative Plate (U).

My Carbon Night's trinket is the Chaise Lounge! She found it within 5 explorations. Could be the common trinket for her? She's beautiful btw. I wonder if there is such a trinket as Lounge Chair because that's the only entry for it, could someone have got the Chaise Lounge name wrong? If there are both and they're her trinkets, a fun night for Carbon Night might be a movie night at home! ;-)

  12. So I have a question. I hope I am asking this right without sounding confusing. Are there certain mermaids that find trinkets easier than others? My seafoam mermaid's trinket is a monolith and I just cannot find it. I didn't know if another mermaid would have an easier time finding it or are trinkets kind of just the luck of the draw. I'm still kind of new to the game. Only been playing for a week.

    1. Stilleto, no confusion at all. In guide you will notice a Trinket list for each mermaid. The trinkets are listed by rarity, (C) for Commonly found/liked, (U) for Uncommonly found/liked, and (R) for Rarely found/liked. This gives you an idea how likely a given mermaid is to like and find a given trinket. For instance, your Seafoam (by the guide), has the Monolith at her Uncommon (U) trinket, so it will be relatively hard for her to find. However, the Monolith is Opal's Common (C) trinket so she is much more likely to find a Monolith.
Best advice, send Opal out to find the Monolith for Seafoam.

Does that make sense? See the guide's opening section for more details on trinket rarity and check out our Harmonious Realms guide as well for more information!

      Delete
    2. Yes, that's why this list is really helpful. Find your mermaid, you'll see (C) next to their common trinket, (U) next to their uncommon and (R) beside their rare trinket. Each mermaid is likely to explore and find their most common trinket more often.
If you search this page for the word "monolith" you'll see it's common for Opal, uncommon for Seafoam, Onyx and Twinkletail. If you have an Opal (you can buy one with not much gold btw) she'll find it the easiest!

    2. Hey Stan, were you able to get tiger tail? Sometimes, I am wondering if it is really tigra and koi! I always get 20 hours and end up with an ember or electra. By golly geez! I don't think I will ever get her with the number of days remaining. I'd like to go for tiger lily and koi but only end up with 6 hours every time. Bummer! I also have problems with the game crashing every time I open it. I don't know if you have the same problem. It will only open for a few minutes then automatically closes. It's kind of irritating at times. Also, we need new realms! Any idea whether crowdstar will create new reals for us?

    3. You were correct, it was not her - THAT TIME! Just got her this morning on my 2nd try only I was shocked bc I've been trying for Lum forever. Mines name is Azra or Azara and she looks like an awesome human hybrid or an infamous "black-eyed child". She was as you said a 12 hour call time both ways. BAM!

    4. Oh and I did Koi 1st then Tigra...1st time I did Tigra then koi and when I went back to read her description it seemed a riddle saying "tigertail is NOT koi" or something to that effect. so I thought maybe reverse the order and got her.

    5. I have not successfully called Tiger Tail yet, and I have little hope of doing so at this point. She's just too difficult to call and the margin for error is 20 hours, so that makes it even tougher. Oh well.

I have not had many issues with the game crashing lately. Maybe once or twice since the update, but nothing major.

Crowdstar has not said anything publicly that I am aware of about new realms, but at this point they would be fools not to release at least 5 more. At present we need 30 realms total to hold ALL of the mermaids available. We have half that. Sheesh!

    6. Yeah, I am REALLY hoping for new realms. (Also, have you gotten Prism Princess yet? I've been trying solid for 2.5 weeks now...) I've not had the lounge problems so many have had. Must be a weird bug of some kind. From some of the stories I hear, I am also beginning to lose faith in Crowdstar's customer support. My personal experiences have been ok, but I've heard some tales to the contrary.

  15. I got Lum mermaid on my second try and since her period was long, I tried again. And oops!! I got her again :D I'm just trying my luck :))
Now, I got 2 Lum and can't decide If I should let go one of them. I can't fit them to any realm but trying to get a Gilded version of the mermaid they like.
Also, I got Amore for the last minute. I tried for the last 5 hours and got dissapointed getting a 6-hr call. I cant finish up since I have no pearl already and I'm bound to work. So I gave up.
But when they finished singing I got shocked 'coz the shadow doesn't belong to any regular mermaid and the tail was heart-shaped. So I got really excited knowing that I got Amore. I'm expecting 12-hr call and forgot the she is a 6-hr singing and 12-hr arriving time.
Also, I think I'm FINALLY getting Tiger Tail after all this times and it brought me both Gilded Koi and Tigra so no regrets..

  16. Just to add to the Antique Chair versus Chaise Longue - the first is my Limelight's trinket the second Carbon Blacks.

Do the LEs ever have multiple trinkets? Or the High Mermaids?
Also Stan,to confirm the duet you publish for getting Midas - success, she has arrived.
I am STILL after nearly a month now, trying to get a Sea Dragon. Even with all those different pairs, no luck.
I'm also hoping that Crowdstar invent the lumber room for the storage of spare trinkets sometime soon, just as they have the lounge for spare mermaids. I've realised that the maximum trinkets per realm is 7, and I have kept a lot of the rarer ones (lei, chest of drawers, for example)for future need.

    1. The Chaise Lounge and the Antique Chair are two different trinkets. The Antique Chair is a high-backed affair with plum upholstery. The Chaise Lounge is clearly broken and features a flushed rose upholstery. Limelight's common trinket is the Antique Chair.

LE's and Neon and above mermaids have only a single trinket preference. This helps keep life nice and simple.

I too wished for the trinket storage item for a bit, but once I realized that nearly all trinkets are the common trinket of one mermaid or another, I stopped trying to hoard trinkets, because I know that all I need to do is send the right mermaid on an exploration and I can get that trinket again. I forget who it is right now, but someone was bringing me Chests of Drawers endlessly a while back.

  17. Hello Stan,

What a great website this is! My 7-year old daughter and I have been playing mermaids since February, and she's as addicted to your website as she is to the game (comparing singing times, singing combinations and trinkets). We've compiled our own helpful guide which lists mermaids by calling time using your list. It's also great to see that men play mermaids too!

We've got ten realms, nine of them three-star, and enough unique mermaids in the lounge to fill three more realms. While tediously collecting the 1.2m coins required for realm 11, we've discovered something to entertain us during the endless waiting for Endless Rift - you can rename individual mermaids when you click on their name in Profile! So now our mermaids bear names of our best friends, family members, as well as some that only a 7-year old girl could come up with. Our Sunstar is now Gloriana and we have a Carbon Night called Kipper.

Happy playing and all the best,

    D&P

  19. I have read a few of these comments and want to contribute. I have 13 realms (10 3star). I have 20 lounge chairs bought with pearls I earned by sending mermaids I found have a tendency to find pearls more often than others exploring. I have 23 guilded, 8 LE, and all of the regular mermaids except 15. None of my 3 star realms contain duplicate mermaids; my goal is to only have one of each unique mermaid.
Ive only been playing since January- I was able to get so many LE mermaids is b/c of the recent comeback some of them had. But I would like to say that I don't think it is necessary to spend money on this game-- I haven't spent a dime on it and have already made it this far in the game. I would like to give a few tips on how I did this.
    Pearls:
    1. I think some mermaids are more likely to find pearls when exploring than others. By my experience: Sunstar, Coco, Koi, Pisces, and Ginger Blossom. They seem to find more pearls than one at a time and usually find them 2-4 times out of every 13-15 times I send them exploring.
    2. I don't think its ever worth it to spend pearls on anything other than:
    A) lounge seats -even if you’re trying to speed up the "building" process of a realm you have purchased- it is better to buy 5 lounge seats for only 99 pearls.
    B) Speeding up the process of calling a limited edition mermaid when you don't have much time left to call her and the mermaid being called doesn’t have the correct call time so you know it isn’t her and you need to try again.
    3. Watch the advertisements under the "earn free pearls" section of the 'store' every day. You can earn up to 15/day simply by watching short advertisements.

    Exploring:
***I agree with one readers post: Sunstar is essential! She finds all of the decor that holds a good percentage value in the later realms and I have used her to single handedly decorate my newest 4 realms.
    1. By placing valuable decor in realms that don't need much decor to be at 100% decor in order to store it while saving up coins or waiting for a new realm to be built, you are able to achieve 100% decor in the new realm almost instantly by simply moving stored decor to the new realm when it is open.
    2. When I send my mermaids exploring, I swipe the screen to the left or right into a different realm, and immediately back into the realm in which I sent (a) mermaid(s) exploring. This eliminates a wait time between sending the mermaid exploring her return with what she has found, making it extremely efficient to send your mermaids exploring.
    3. By sending mermaids like Sunstar, who finds rare and expensive decor very often, you can easily and quickly achieve a netgain in coins by selling the rare items she finds while also earning pearls. I have earned millions of coins using Sunstar and over 500 pearls.
    4. By positioning mermaids who are both very efficient at exploring in realms right next to each other, you can simply swipe back and forth between the two realms and keep resending the same two mermaids exploring before you leave each realm to maximize your time efficiency as well as your coin and pearl profit.

Lounge Chairs: I would recommend purchasing lounge seats to hold duplicate mermaids (maybe their guilded and therefore difficult to call, or perhaps they're expensive to call or have long calling times) which are sometimes essential to finding the right combination of mermaids for 3 star realms due to their preferences of other mermaids. They’re also good to hold low coin earning mermaids in while you are trying to earn coins for new realms- I do this with my mermaids who occupy realms that I haven’t been able to make 3 stars yet.

Now, how would gamers feel about starting to ask CrowdStar to give us the ability to trade mermaids and trinkets or pearls with other players as a new addition to the game? I think that would be AWESOME! I really want the St. Patrick's Day mermaid (which I tried for days and spent hundreds of pearls on and still never was able to call her!)!

    I hope this was helpful!

    1. Hey tdont forget Luau she got me like 5 white pumice, 2 red pumice and 12 pearls before she finally got me her trinket.

    2. Hear hear! What great advice, Grace, it's my strategy precisely, except that I did spend a few pounds for pearls, just because I think Crowdstar deserve it for keeping us happy and busy. But I agree that it's perfectly possible to achieve a lot in this game without spending anything. What I've also done a couple of times was to 'complete an offer and earn free pearls' by shopping at an online store linked to the free pearls offers - in my case, it was buying a book from Tesco's Entertainment section (which I was planning to buy anyway) - that got me over 70 pearls!

Have fun getting you final two realms, and let's hope they won't remain final for much longer. We need at least fifteen more to fit in all the common, gilded and LE mermaids!

      Delete
    3. All good stuff Grace! You echo many of the strategies that we list in our Harmonious Realms Guide! Although, I too encourage everyone to send a little bit of money Crowdstar's way. The game is free to play and I know they make money from ad revenue, but a little juice from the fans can't hurt. Heck, maybe it will convince them to give us more realms!

      Delete
    4. Thanks Grace! Great tips especially which are the best mermaid explorers :-) Stella Star has made profit for me like her relative SunStar for you - so everyone should get one!

      More tips:
I think it may be worth spending pearls on changing a mermaids preferences (trinket who she likes etc) if you need to and don't want to wait to sing for another. Worth doing if makes a harmonious three-star realm, because each one of those gives you a bonus pearl each day. Different for me cos I can't expand my lounge as when I put more than 8 or so in there it crashes every time I open it :-( Means I have to cull many duplicates :-(.

To make three star realms, I draw diagrams of who likes who to work it out. List in pencil each mermaid's preferences and which trinkets I have spare in each realm etc. When I delete one I literally "rub them out" on my list. Helps to get the overall picture and see about swapping them between realms etc. A puzzle mixed with a luck game - love it!

If you want to see who's asleep you can open the list in the singing summit to see at a glance.

Now I have decor, planning to make realm number one a non-three star realm to move new mermaids into after they've been called. Would be quicker than scrolling all the way to the higher realms!

The Pearl Idol is great though if I sleep in the morning, then I have to stay up late. If you don't claim the 3 pearls every 12 hours it won't regenerate new ones! Can interfere in your life some!

  20. FINALLY got Aries. Have been trying for her since she first came out and she arrived in the bubble last night!

Echoing what other people have said - we need higher level decor and more realms! I have 15 mermaids in storage at the moment and I'd love to have them all out and about!

  21. Clever figuring out Marigold :-) Yep I think I'm getting the Stella Star too on second try! My singing luck has increased considerably since I think the server went down Wednesday Night? (Now it's around midday here is Eastern Australia). I'd been trying to get Domino and Silver Song for about 5 days! Trying many different combinations, on Thursday morning my luck changed. Yay! Just hope the Stella Star is good to find high ranking decor just what I need.

Are there any other possible combinations to try? Is there a time of day I should try? I'm kinda getting frustrated so I'm just trying to figure out what gives. Any advice? Or is there some glitch? 24. Currently the list says:
    Koi
Trinket: Mandolin (C), Decorative Plate (U), Gilded Table (R)

    Stinger
Trinket: Mandolin (C), Decorative Plate (U)

How do we know for sure which are the common and uncommon items? Aren't they usually different for each mermaid? Because I sent Koi looking for her Mandolin trinket and she bought me two Decorative Plates within 20 explorations and other goodies(she is a good hunter! thanks Grace). Ended up using the Stinger to get a Mandolin. So I wonder if the Decorative plate is common for Koi?

    1. I created the Trinket values based on feedback from my game, Aimee's game and the contributions of over a dozen readers. I simply tallied the amount of times each trinket showed up for each mermaid. The most commonly occurring trinkets earned a Common rating and so on. There were some close calls however, and I am always willing to amend the document when diligent readers are seeing evidence contrary to what the guide says. (I have always maintained that it is a fluid document!)
I will add your decorative plate occurrences to my tally sheet and see if that tips the balance in the favor of the plate!
      Thank you for contributing!

  25. I'd like to challenge Sea Dragon + Tigra = Electra. I've sung that combination twice and both have given me Embers! Ouch! No I mean the mermaid ;-) My first Neon and now a Blue Nova is on the way. Thank goodness for this list!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Only twice? The duet of Sea Dragon + Tigra fits the pattern that results in Neon mermaids so I am content to let it stand and this point. If you sing that duet a dozen more times and do not get an Electra, then we can revisit.

Thank you for the kind words and all of the contributions! Reader interaction makes the guide better and stronger!

    2. At this time, it seems that Neon and higher mermaids are comprised of all traits. I have based this on multiple singing duets of neons and above which have resulted in everything from Citrine to Sea Dragon.

Your duet is noted! Thank you!

      Delete
    3. No Worries, you're welcome! Is it true the Neons are a combination of all colours?

Another duet is Tiger Lily + Honey Dew = Glimmer Rose (not Sunkiss - it was late at night, trying for Sunkiss and wrote the colours down wrong: Sunkiss = Luau and Bluebelle or Honeydew).

IMHO to get 3 colour mermaids it works well if you have two colour mermaids singing even if it repeats the colours - seems the colours mix more and there's less chance of a one colour mermaid arriving.

      Delete
    4. Actually disregard all of the above about Sunkiss - it worked for Glimmer Rose but for Sunkiss it should work but I'm having trouble getting her with those combinations. I should only report ones that worked sorry! Will try the combos in your list.
I'm trying to get a second one to rearrange my realms for new mermaids!

  26. Hi Stan and Aimee, just to let you know that my experience of the Koi trinket question concurs with Busybee's experience
I have had three Kois and they all liked the decorative plate, no mandolin fanciers.
I highly recommend Stella Star! She likes her trinket so much she has found about 8 of them - with a resale value of over £29,000 coins per starfish which is getting me well on the way to the Thousand Lilies realm. And then what I wonder! I do wish we had some more high end decors too, all my later realms are just choc full of tall seaweed, grails, tiaras and arches, it would be nice to change the scenery. How about some pretty seashells please, crowdstar designers!

Also I confirm the Crustacea duo worked for me - first time too! She is in the bubble right now. But you know I still don't have a sea dragon! All those combinations and three summits dedicated to getting her right now...you think she'd turn up.

Finally thanks to the earlier poster who tipped us off about changing your mermaids names, I didn't know you could do this. I've had a lot of fun setting up realms of Greek Goddesses, and various fictional characters. Makes the game much more personal.

  30. Anyone notice that when you have duplicate types of mermaids (e.g. I had two Stingers in there today and only 4/10) that's when the lounge crashes?

Please check if it happens for you and reply. Then we'll know if it's just me and we can report it to Crowdstar.

Wouldn't it be good too if they listed the name of the mermaid in the lounge rather than the type? When you have two of the same it's hard to tell them apart except by order of entry into the lounge.

I thought I'd never get her in time and I'd almost given up hope, but I decided to keep trying. Just keep at it! I doubt it was luck at all for me. You got two? I didn't think you could. I tried to get a second Sun Star, but couldn't despite how quickly I got her the first time. And then I accidentally sold her (I was horrified at that) and got her on my second attempt AFTER I no longer had her.

Does anyone else have multiples of Limited Edition Mermaids? Or was this a glitch since they were summoned at the same time?

      Delete
    4. Laura W glad you got her back would hate to lose my Sun Star! I think you could get multiples of limited edition mermaids, just like any mermaid. It's like a roll of the dice every time they sing together and wouldn't matter which ones you already have (except the two that are singing! and you're more likely to get a higher mermaid if they're ecstatic).

  41. OOh a good couple of days! Mint on first try,I can confirm her penchant for low level mermaids - mine likes Fuschias, so she's slumming it down in the Kelp Sanctuary realm. And a 36 hour call just underway from a Midas + Crustacea combo, so I guess that's Diamante at last. And I was a complete Nelly the day before.I had Diamond Swan arrive, and I goodbyed her straight away without thinking,as she looked familiar - confused her with my 2 Fortuna Swirls. Damn!
And yet STILL no Seadragon. I wonder, does every player have a 'barred' mermaid they can never get without pearls? Just an idea.

  43. My daughter started a singing pair (when I wasn't watching) that I would never have tried. She sung two limited editions together - Lum and Stella Star! It cost $3790 (not too bad but I did reprimand her!).

While they were singing it looked like red and blue music notes (even though they both have a red LE star trait? I wonder if they actually have one basic colour trait each?)

Guess what - we got a Gilded Fuschia out of it!

I keep the Gildeds and rearrange them and LEs into realms. Am just replacing my Coral and Aqua with their gilded versions. I'll keep the original mermaids that I really like, like Charming Violet, Velvet Twist and Luau - couldn't part with those!
P.S. love the FAQ updates with cute pics and all - great job Stan!

May not be worth it to pay so much for a singing pair and only get basic mermaids! 5. LE mermaids are a combination of all colors, and there does seem to be some consistency to what colors they favor when singing, but I have not been able to observe this with any real consistency. I have used LE mermaids to call everyone from the lowest level to the highest level mermaids.

    2. Aimee theorizes that the mermaids are pre-loaded into the game in an update and then are programmed to launch on timed releases. Hence, it is easier for them to launch new mermaids because they are already built into the program, whereas realms require an actual full update.

      makes sense to me

  45. Does it matter what level you're on to get the newer mermaids? I ask because for the past week, I've tried effortlessly to call Shimmer. With no luck. I guess what I'm asking here is, do I need to continue leveling up or just sing? On a brighter note, I'm opening up another singing summit for my mermaids. So I'll have three instead of two.~

    1. I've never seen level have any effect on this game apart from opening the original six mermaids. I would guess that you are able to call any mermaid as long as you have the two mermaids that can call that mermaid. I too am having zero luck with Shimmer, Metallia and Spectra and I am at LV40. Although if I got all three of them tomorrow I would have no where to put them. I'm 1.8 mil toward the final realm.

      We just keep trying...

    2. Stan - I am Level 42 and FIVE WEEKS of nonstop trying and still no Prism Princess. I was also wondering this same question, but it appears that this has nothing to do with it. Do you think we'll have to try a lot harder for those upper level mermaids than we did with PP? (Slash worst nightmare.)

      Delete
    3. Ahhhh! Finally. 48-hour call time. Let that be a reminder that it IS possible, as long as you keep trying. Sheesh. More than five weeks of trying, and I would probably venture to say that it was nearly 200 times that I tried calling her. And now I wait...

    4. Yep, patience and luck. Over and over. Congratulations.

  46. I tried to get Mint but didn't get her, but will LE mermaids be available later too?

    1. Crowdstar has already offered one Amnesty period on LE mermaids, it stands to reason they will do so again. See our FAQ for more details.

    2. Okay so you mean there might be same LE mermaids NEXT year..?

      Delete
    3. That is my expectation. Most of the LE mermaids from this year should show up again next year along with more new ones I would assume.

    2. Yes, I am. Thanks for asking.~ Still trying as hard as I can to get Spectra or Shimmer. Singing with Prism Princess is so expensive..I'll keep my fingers crossed and let you know when I get the 48 hour sing time. ^^

  48. Hello everyone! I was wondering if any of you have a problem with the LE mermaid guide. Mine displays only 10 out of 11 mermaids (nine of which I have, plus Taurus and Rose Gold). It gives a correct count, but I'm just unable to scroll down to see more than ten.

Good luck to you calling the new LEs. I think Taurus is really gorgeous, with lots of character.

    1. I have that same problem. Probably just a bug.

    2. Yes, I have that bug as well. It even pulls up the guide and checks the ones off that you cannot scroll too, but it does not display them. Makes me crazy!

  49. Dear Stan and Aimee,NEW DUET! As regular postees may know, I've been singing for Seadragon for nearly 2 months, using up to 3 of my summits at a time, and using all your listed combos, with no luck. I put Fortuna Swirls and Midas up on the stump last night to try for the Diamond Swan I so stupidly deleted. And guess what - Seadragon is in the bubble - there's no mistaking her clamshell crown and horns. So there's a new duet for your list. Phew. It's good to see her at last. And of course immediately I think another is coming, as I'm running a 16 hour song off Isis and Gingerblossom.
By the by, after recent post, I have been checking the colour of the musical notes generated by the duetting pair, but I could not ascribe a pattern yet.
Finally, Dolly, I think the LE Guide only lists currently available LEs, rather than all there have been.

    1. Congratulations on the Sea Dragon. I like her a lot. Higher level mermaids are capable of calling pretty much any lower level mermaid because they seem to possess all 6 basic traits. For this reason, I do not list higher level duets as I would have to list every higher level duet of nearly every mermaid. (I do think there are preferences, but even so, the list is still massive). Sea Dragon is a common result of higher level duets, so is Domino, but I've gotten Aquas and Kelps from higher level duets as well!

Now if that Isis + Ginger Blossom turns out and it's not on the guide, let me know!

      Congrats and thanks for contributing!

    2. It was a second sea dragon! And my oh my, shes a gilded one. Wowsers, that's one great mermaid.

  50. Hey Stan
I got Prism Princess on my first try and it then I got Spectra. For something was very wrong about my Spectra because I got her with Crustacea+Emeber. I thing it was a bug do have this problem in your game. One other thing I saw that was not right was that I had all Spectra mermaids and all my other mermaids were gone.

  51. Hello Stan!
I'm happy to say that my mermaids Prism Princess and Diamond Swan are singing for Spectra! Phew! She was a tough cookie. So, now I can concentrate on getting decor for one of my realms. You know what I wish? I wish they'd make it so that you could play the game without the Internet.~

    1. Congratulations. I have suspended my attempts for those mermaids until I can get at least Rose Gold or Taurus. Neither are coming easily.

I think the game needs the internet to run some of its basic functions.

Eventually I got Rose Gold a day before the expiration. :-) She's delicate and lovely. Her Diamond Ring Trinket description says: "This Ring is beloved by Rose Gold as a symbol of her fame and wealth" Isn't a diamond ring usualy a symbol of love? Interesting!

    1. This is getting out of hand. Too many mermaids, too soon right after another and now using the same mermaid as another LE.

Crowdstar must be confused as to what the players want from this game.

I don't know if you visit the Crowdstar forums (I don't seem to be able to post there), but there is now a competition for the best suggestions for developing / improving Mermaid World - announced by Crowdstar themselves. There are some great ideas - apart from more realms (obviously) and trinket storage, people are asking for pets for mermaids, memory games (remember who's a given mermaid's favourite mermaid), an option to upgrade mermaids, make them more interactive, spin games with prized etc etc etc. Crowdstar seem to be very responsive, hopefully this competition will get them to understand better what we expect from the game. I have a feeling that the next upgrade will be a major one, that's why it's taking so long. Fingers crossed!

    3. I hope you are right Dolly. This is getting out of control. Game play is diminishing and player morale is tanking. They need to get a handle on it soon. I've already seen players jumping ship for better managed games.

  55. No Rose Gold yet, despite singing for her non-stop with two Sparkle Pinkle / Sweetwater duets, all ecstatic, one Sparkle Pinkle Gilded. Plenty of Fuchsias though :/

Temptress and Inky are lazy primadonnas too - for 30K per singing you'd expect better than an Aqua!!!

  58. Okay, so does anybody else have a huge crash every few minutes with the new update? I got my Stella Star mermaids working again, but now anything I do just keeps crashing!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Anthony, I've noticed it too. The new upgrade brought great improvements to the lounge - it stopped crashing when duplicate mermaids were placed in it, and now you can view a mermaid's likes and dislikes in the lounge, plus you can sell them directly from the lounge. On the down side, the game does crash a lot more. Most importantly, no pearls get credited to my account when viewing the Earn Free Pearls app ads - I've looked at a few adds, as I often do, hoping to earn what should be ten pearls, but I got nothing. I will certainly be writing to Crowdstar.

Oh, and the new upgrade fixed the problem with the LE guide - it now displays all the currently available ones plus all the past ones which you have (not just ten, as before).

On the whole I'm very pleased with the new upgrade, especially if they fix the free pearls issue.

Still no Rose Gold though :(

    2. I've noticed the Earn Free Pearls app mess-up, as well. Darn it. I am pretty unhappy with the new upgrade. Yeah, the lounge is pretty awesome now, especially since you can take a look at your mermaids' stats without bringing them out. However, the game crashes a lot more for me. In fact, this morning I lost my Stella Star while trying to move her to a different realm. The game crashed and she is now gone from my guide and nowhere to be had. When I tried to contact Crowdstar with a bug report, it wouldn't work. The email I sent from the game didn't work, as well. (I have since sent another email from outside of the game and am waiting to hear back.) Take great care in moving your mermaids. You could lose them... Pretty sure they can't restore lose LE mermaids. Argh.

      Delete
    3. You are the second person I have heard of that lost a mermaid this way. This new update is a disaster. It seems to have broken more than it fixed. Ugh. Here is hoping for a quick fix.

      Delete
    4. Yep mine is crashing too! Total bummer Anthony. Hope you can get Stella Star back Natalie P maybe they can restore to an earlier time?

Like many was hoping for new realms with the update too. Thanks, Dolly, for explaining the improvements in the lounge. It's much better now. (Strangely it crashes less in the lounge and more everywhere else - not sure which I prefer!)

I like how a brand new mermaid can be moved straight into the lounge, where you can view their preferences. Much better than having to make a space in a realm first. (For a while I thought that you couldn't click on a new mermaid to confirm who they were without placing them somewhere - that was stressful!)

  59. So I thought I would share a WARNING about an offer I did to get the free pearls... The offer for an estimate on windows, I can't remember how many pearls, maybe 39 or so. Anyway, less than 2 mins later my phone rang... Someone was calling about doing an estimate... I got 4 more calls in the next 10 mins... I took my phn off the hook... When I hung it back up the calls started again... This went on for nearly 3 DAYS! I had to tell ppl to remove my name and please stop calling. (I learned my lesson, no amount of pearls is worth giving out my home phn #)

    3. YES!!!!!
I got Rose Gold on the FIRST try and just under the wire, I guess!!!
      She is SO pretty!!! :D

  63. I logged 53 sings for Rose Gold and didn't get her. But when I saw the ad on the game to buy extra Sparkles and Sweetwaters I realised that they must have made it tough, so I abandoned the chase. Its a shame as I really liked the look of her. (some mermaids I don't bother with on looks - Tigertail looked like a psychotic monkey, frankly, so I let her be! Wheras Mint is kinda Amy Winehouse in negative, so I got her) Very disappointing, though I did have a GILDED diamond swan arrive to make up - so I have 2 gilded high mermaids now which is nice. So begins the long and no doubt exhausting summon for Prism Princess. 15 realms all decorated now and 10 of them 3 star. Building up a huge pot of cash for when new realms arrive! Shame you can't trade coins for pearls. I do like the new lounge features, but when I saw the upgrade notice I thought - REALMS!- but not to be.

    1. I did not get Rose Gold either and it is shame, she was really pretty. I was even going to bite the bullet and spend the pearls, but I missed out on that too.

Nice work on the Gilded D.Swan!

  64. First of all, I would like to thank you for all the great information! Second, I wanted to tell you, I was trying to call a Sparkle Pinkle mermaid with Charming Violet and Coco, and accidentally ended up with a Koi. It was a pleasant surprise, but I thought I would tell you so you could add it to your list for her.

Also, ever since the update, I have also experienced crash after crash! It usually comes after I send my mermaids exploring, especially if they have found something awesome and/or there isn't enough room in that particular realm for it... Then when I reload the game, it is gone and so are the coins I used to explore, which is a total bummer!

I have really just started playing the game in the last two weeks or so, but I am 100% hooked! Thanks again for all the great info!

  65. Have you gotten any of the last three mermaids yet? (Shimmer, Metallia, Spectra.) Do you need to have your singing mermaids ecstatic before they will come? Or have you gotten them without that requirement?

    1. I just got Shimmer. My mermaids were ecstatic and I got her on the first try. (This never happens to me. I think it's the game giving me recompense for the heartache with Prism Princess...) Just an update.

  66. So, I've either reached another bug, or the end of the line on lounge space. I now have 40 lounge spaces with no option to buy more. Which stinks, because I was really hoping to buy enough lounge space to hold all of my gilded mermaids (when I get them all - up to 31 now.) I've restarted the game, filled up all my lounge space, and restarted again to double check. I really can't buy anymore. Thought I'd share.

  67. Ever been given congratulations in game for completing achievements that don't exist in quests (located next to the guide) and wondered where they came from? If you close the game and open the Game Centre, click on Mermaid World. It lists 23 achievements (I've done 13 so far).

    Some fun Achievements include:
    * Beyond the Impossible - call a second Prism Princess
    * Misery loves company - have a realm with five unhappy mermaids
    * Send in the clones - Have a realm with five mermaids of a single type (will be easy after some of the LE singing I've done lately)
    * Decoration Nation - Acquire every decoration (I wonder if it includes junk?) :-/ tho some of it is cool
    * A bounty of Baubles - Acquire every trinket (wonder if LEs included probably not or would be impossible)
    * Double Down - Acquire every mermaid with two traits (Not sure why I haven't got this yet have got all up and including the golden ones obviously the new higher level mermaids are included?)
    * Triple Threat - Acquire every mermaid with three traits (haven't got this one yet and am confused why not too?) Anyone got these last two?

Hope you enjoy some new challenges (other than fitting too many mermaids in too little realms, avoiding crashes and singing for the latest LE mermaids ;-).
